WHAT IS VIVA LA MORT?
Shadow and light. 光と陰.
All things are in flux and nothing is constant. 諸行無常.
Viva La Mort was founded in 2012 when we drew a logo that embodied the idea of life and death intertwined (a lightbulb and a skull) and printed up a small batch of our hand drawn “Homebrew” t-shirts; in a tiny old house in Osaka, Japan as a way to produce tangible art that we could share with our community. The first shirts sold out quick so we figured we were onto something and that we had better make some more. Drew more, printed more and started to meet some really cool people because of it.
We then opened up The Fort; our screen printing space and shop (and basketball hoop too!), in Sakai the following year and our biggest little brand was born. In conjunction with Route 26 and Pineapple Express we hosted numerous events featuring live music, art, food, craft beer and more, designed to get all kinds of people together to have fun in our unique shared space.
Since then Viva La Mort has branched out to encompass graphic design, illustration, mural painting, custom t-shirt design and printing, as well as continuing to produce Viva La Mort branded small batches of t-shirts, hoodies, and other clothing items and accessories. Check the shop to see what we have in stock or Instagram feed for current designs, projects, events and limited edtion products for sale.
Our focus is on hand drawn designs; analog at heart but we definitely do more than dabble in digital. Whatever you need, we have you covered.
